My Favorite Flash Mob of the Moment

Someone just sent me this video of  a Danish flash mob playing Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite on the Copenhagen Metro.  I love it-- very restrained and genteel, but also totally full of fun-- just like the Danes themselves. The video builds slowly-- classical musicians play the first movement ( morning) to communters on the city underground.  Surprised straphangers take it all in stride as the music and the ride both build to a crescendo

I've been to Denmark a couple of times. It is pretty in a fairy tale sort of way, and you always have the feeling that everything is under control and nothing bad can ever happen. This is a  country, after all,  whose national hero, Hans Christian Andersen, is a writer of children's stories. Coopenhagen is a beautiful city whose harbor is dominated by the statue of a mermaid and whose major landmark is a charmingly special amusement part.. The bottom line is that Danes know not to take life too seriously and they know how to have fun.  Check out the video and you will see what I mean. It's very Danish.
