Puppy Tweets are TMI, IMHO

Talk about TMI! Now your dog can tweet you from home to tell you he's chewing your shoes, peeing on the carpet or driving the neighbors crazy with his barking. Yup, toy maker Mattel has come up with something called Puppy Tweets that attaches to your dog's collar and is calibrated to figure out what your dog is doing and tweet it to the world. Personally, I have mixed feelings about this, but I guess it is progress.

I don't know what the world is coming to when Fido has his own twitter account and I'm not sure that I want to know when he is pooping on the oriental rug but I bet Mattel is going to sell a lot of Puppy Tweets this Christmas.

Check out Engadget's excellent review of Puppy Tweets here for more complete information and then, if you want,, run on out and buy one for your best friend. I think most dogs would rather have a Frisbee.

Baby monitors good, Puppy Tweets bad. Very, very BAD. Perfect example of being TOO connected. I thought the height (low?) of canine accessories was sweaters, dresses and tutus. Guess not.

I'm thinking about one for the dog next door so his owners can know how he howls and whines all day long when they are not around

That would be the only GOOD use I could think of for a Puppy Tweet, altho I think a baby monitor receiver in each owner's pocket would be more effective.
