Magic Angles and Optical Illusions

John V. Muntean's Magic Angle Scultptures are not just an optical illusion, they are serious philosophical statements that requires imaginative leaps and philosophical thought.  On top of that, they are clever, beautiful and just plain fun.

Montean is a scientist who explores perception and perspective through art.  His intricate wooden sculptures appear to be abstract until lit from specific angles. That's when perception changes everything.  Check out the video below and visit  Magic Angle Sculpture  for more examples and a more complete explanation.

Looking at Magic Angle sculpture really is mesmerizing. I can't help thinking of Plato's Cave .
