Everybody Is Irish on St. Patricks Day

While it is true that St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, and St. Patricks Day is a quintessentially Irish celebration, it is also the only national holiday I know of that is celebrated by so many, of so many different backgrounds all around the world. It's true that everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day.

St Patrick's Day in Moscow

In Japan

In Havana

And even in New Orleans

Check out this video for St Paddy's Day with a Mardi - Gras feel, down to the green beads

Erin go Bragh y'all:-)

The Japan photo is fabulous. Was that Lady Gaga in pink on the video? (just kidding) Wonderful post. Really makes you think about celebrations around the world and how much people crave them.

Dear PPR

Great photos, good point. My favourite is the Russian one. I was there as late as 1990 and this would have been unthinkable then. Thank you for dropping in again on my blog...
